Portuguese introduced coriander, pepper, ginger, curry, saffron, and paprika to Europe. As well known navigators Portuguese expanded overseas and were the first Europeans to dock in China, Japan and Ethiopia. On these trips they brought to Europe, until then unknown, exotic products like, rice and tea from the Orient, coffee and peanuts from Africa and pineapple, peppers, tomatoes and potatoes from the new world. Portuguese people are sweet toothed. Each region has its own specialty. Most of the famous desserts were started in the convents and the recipes kept in secret for many centuries. So we will share with you recipes that will make you happy and at the same time you can serve them in the colorful and ready to use pottery.
