In July, 2006 we traveled to Portugal. These are some of the photos which were taken in an artesan fair
in Algarve southern part of Portugal where the summer beachs are for the tourists and not only for Portuguese too:))
The old man and the lady are making baskets and the sweets are all regional a lot of eggs and almonds.
The vendors are all local artesans and quite talented.
This doll is made completely by hand - the hat, the basket, the body, the clothes. She represents the women who
go in the fields to pick up "medronhos" the red fruit that makes a very strong drink.The first skirt is a protection to her other layers of skirts. A truly nice work.
