My last trip to shop for pottery was very short in time (three days) but timeless in matter of having the ability 
in my downtime to absorb all of the quietness, pine trees, and birds singing.
This is Monte Alerta what we call “turismo rural” (countryside tourism home hotel).
Monte Alerta is one of those places where you have a wonderful hosts - Sergio & Victoria, owners for 7 generations of the immense acres that surround this entire beautiful house. It is not every day that you have the pleasure to have your breakfast at a 20 foot table!
Other amenities are available: massages, Jacuzzi, swimming pool. A great Portuguese breakfast is included in the room price.
Victoria has a peaceful place in her house only for massages, hydro massage, and relaxation for her guests.
Sergio has an extra attraction for their guests - a train set, a wonderful work of patience.
Monte do Limpo is a place where you can learn and taste a wonderful cast of wines. The host of the winery mixes his knowledge with the pleasure of tasting wine. Alentejo is a well know region for wineries.
First,a tour of t he oak barrels are where the wine ages, and then the tasting is done in the beautiful dinning room.
These are the absolutely unique doors to the wine cellar.
This is the house of the artisan that made this sofa blanket. It is in our store online - 100% wool.
These photos are of a quite village in Alentejo. However these artisans are working to make this handmade art a treat for everyone. Most of them are women.
